11 Things I’ve Learned at 41
In a few weeks I will reach a mile stone in my existence. I will turn 100 years old. Seriously! I mean, never trust a birth certificate that states otherwise and is wrong by some 59 little digits (Besides, who can read the fine print after 40 anyways?). Truth be told, I feel like an aged grandma most of the time (and in case you’re shaking your head right now, next time you take a shower check the drain if it isn’t full of falling out hair or have a look at your face in a magnifying bathroom mirror and tell me that you haven’t noticed that big fat wrinkle on your forehead yet?). Honesty, at this point nobody’s fooled by appearances anymore: decay is as good as it gets at 41. And being a smart-butt of a granny that I am (wink) I’d like to share with you a few things I’ve learned along the way:
1. Common sense
2. Aging
3. Born
4. Life
5. The End
6. Everyone
7. Tax
8. Money
9. Colors
10. Love
11. People

Hey Ms. Abby , I’m getting more and more excited and also feeling some fear all at the same time . But anyway girl your dangerously funny . I’m reading and you know having my ice tea til I read the first one laughed so hard tea came out my nose ? you are Dangerous? I love it !
Fear NOT, Ms. Gloria! And rest assured that deep inside ( I mean somewhere REALLY, really deep inside) I’m a nice, sweet person 😉 And sarcasm is just my personal way of getting through the debris of everyday s…t. Happy you liked my little collection! xx Abby
Ooooooohhhh, the first two are SO depressing because they are SO true!
As for my face, every week, I find something new on it that really shouldn’t be there… a wrinkle, a red freckle, a hair in the wrong place, etc. It really is a bitch getting older; you have to laugh about it. Thanks for supplying the laughs, gorgeous Abby! Having seen you IRL, I can verify that you do not look remotely like a granny. xx
Thank you Lisa! You made me blush ☺️! I think it will take me another forty years to get used to that ageing thing. I mean, our bodies are falling apart and we’re supposed to be happy about it, in what world? And oh, the face hair, I didn’t sign up for this one for sure, did you? Happy to see you here! xx Abby
41 is not old woman! I agree with Lisa (the few IG pics I’ve seen) you are no granny!!! Sexy Mama maybe, Granny no.
My Dad’s visiting from Oz at the moment & he has a good one you’ll like – Once an adult twice a child. He just loves saying it especially when he’s bossing me around hahaha 😉
Btw Abby I didn’t get the email alert.
xxx
Thank you for the compliments, Michelle! Your dad’s so right! We never grow up, do we? Happy to see you have family over. I’m so sorry about the email alert though, must have a glitch in the newsletter department. xx Abby
I didn’t miss your post Abby! Here I am 😉 xxx
I meant I’ve missed you posting on your blog:) 🙂 xx A
You never fail to crack me up! I’ve missed you. It’s been all my fight. I’m spending too much time with myself lately. I tend to do that quite a bit I know. I love the new look gorgeous as always. I hope things are going good for you!
Missed you too Rena so much! Summer’s here so that helps a lot! Happy you like the look:) Hope you’re doing well on your end too! xx Abby
I laughed out loud at number 8. Don’t worry Abby. I am now 62 and never been happier. Even though I have been a happy, cheerful soul all my life. It really isn’t so bad growing older. Just a bit more areas to cover up.
Greetje
You give me hope Greetje. If I look and feel like you at 62 then there’s nothing to worry about. Thank you for dropping by!
